Heritage Talks 2025

We’re delighted to announce dates and speakers for our Heritage Talks in 2025. From the battlefields of WWI to corsets and brutalism, hopefully there is something for everyone!

Tuesday 29th April – Battlefields of World War I.
Paul Jaques and Dave Vaux from the Royal Warwickshire Regiment give an armchair guide to the WWI battlefields.

Tuesday 27th May – Bertha Bracey, Holocaust Hero.
Dr Sian Roberts tells the story of Bertha Bracey, a Quaker from Bournville who saved hundreds of children during the Holocaust.

Tuesday 24th June – 200 years of Birmingham Medical School.
Professor Jonathan Reinarz gives a history of Birmingham Medical School, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year.

Tuesday 29th July – Brutalist Birmingham.

Architect and urban designer Joe Holyoak examines brutalist architecture in Birmingham and beyond.

Tuesday 30th September – Corsets, collars and social class.
Connor McGrath, vintage clothing expert and collector, explores social history through fashion.

All talks are held in the Main Hall. Refreshments are available to purchase from 6.30pm, with the talks starting at 7pm.
